I have been taking Accutane for nearly 3 months now. My dermatologist recommended this lip balm from the beggining. At first I thought I could just get by with my regular lip gloss, but it just didn't work. So I bought this item and have used nothing since. I will continue to use it after my Accutane treatment is complete.

This is the best lip balm I have ever used, and I've tried many. It keeps my lips moisturized for the entire day (no other product has done that). I am hypothyroid and have taken Accutane--both of which tend to cause extremely dry skin and lips. I'm also very fair-skinned. I'm very happy with my purchase! A local cosmetic surgeon/skin health center sells this for $9, and it was worth every penny. I'm going to purchase some more tubes for Christmas stocking stuffers this year.

this product may prevent cold sores from happening since it has an SPF 15 and some are brought on by skin irritation (such as from the sun) but this will not actually treat a cold sore.
