how to use it
This product can be worn alone or with mineral powders on top. Your first few pumps will be primarily gel as the minerals are released. This will only happen once, and then the mousse will be consistently even. Be sure to let Liquid Minerals dry completely before judging the color. Always test the shade on your face as it will look different on different parts of your body.
I have tried everything from LaPraire to Covergirl and this is clearly the best. It is the only thing that doesn't break my skin out (and I am well into middle-age). Finding the best color is the only catch!
I love liquid foundations and tried most of them from cover girl to dior, chanel, ysl, mufe etc.
This one has a medium coverage, very natural look, makes lines less visible and adds glow thanks to boron nitride (a lot of people complain about this ingredient in BE foundations but I like the glow and it doesn't make me itch). Although I need some matte powder because this glow looks like a oil after few hours (but face is dry it's not actual oil or sebum), I got Jane iredale matte powder and I love it for natural look and for matte look for hours.
I like natural ingredients and thsi foundation is super light like a skin. I use Golden glow for my light to medium complexion with yellow undertones.
Since I started to use this natural minerals... people at my office had said comments like: "You have a new light in your face"... "Your skin looks so healthy"... I like the most that I have now a NATURAL LOOKING SKIN... day or night!!!
medium coverage, air-brushed finish, stays for about 6 hrs. not very moisturizing in winter but it doesn't dry out my skin like the base loose powder. doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or block my pores. so far loved it
I am really writing this for the maker's of this producr. I have been using this liquid makeup for quite sometime and have loved it. I am finding the last few times I have purchased this makeup it has a watered down texture. The cover age is not the same as it once was and I was wondering why.
Let me first say that I have used TONS of different kinds/brands of foundations, and Jane Iredale is by far my absolute favorite! I have used powders and creams and tints of dozens of different brand names, and nothing else compares.
Jane Iredale liquid foundation comes in an awesome looking bottle with a pump. To use it, you press down the pump all the way, and a small amount of foundation comes out. That one pump is all I need for my entire face! I put the squirt of foundation on the back of my hand and mix it with my finger. Then I apply it all over my face and neck. Don't worry if at first it looks smeary and cakey, because after a few minutes, the makeup blends with your skin color and looks flawless and dewy! For dark circles, I dot a little under my eyes and wait a moment, and all of a sudden I look perfect! The foundation lasts all day in normal conditions, but if you need a touch up, it's quick and easy. You can just apply more makeup on top and it won't looked caked on. This foundation has a perfect pH level as well, and works great for combination and dry skin. I actually have very oily skin, and this foundation works wonderfully for me as well; instead of looking oily I look dewy and fresh! I have even slept in this makeup and woke up without any blemishes! I have most definitely noticed a change in the quality of my skin. Normally, I break out extremely easily. I would often go to my doctor and beg for medications to clear up my pimples... but no more! After only using this makeup for a few days, I've noticed that my pimples just disappear! My skin is healthy and glowing, and when I wake up in the morning, I absolutely can't wait to put it on!
I recommend this product wholeheartedly. The trick is to find a store that carries Jane Iredale products. You can go to their website and find locations near you. I recommend doing this because places that sell this makeup line have tons of testers, where you can actually find the right shade for you.
Please consider buying this makeup. You won't regret it! You'll be doing something healthy for your skin and the environment, and you'll look absolutely beautiful, I promise!

I've tried a lot of foundation and this is the best I've used. I'm rating it a 4 because the price is the most I've paid for foundation and it does not provide coverage to hide scars. You would have to use a concealer. However, it feels and looks great on your skin.
What a huge disappointment! If you have oily or acne-prone skin, stay away! I love Jane Iredale products (even though they're obscenely-priced), but this broke out my jaw area badly! I stopped using it and the breakouts immediately stopped. I did a little research on comedogenic ingredients and learned that one of the main ingredients in Liquid Minerals, Carrageenan (seaweed), is highly pore-clogging. What a shame because Jane Iredale's major claim is that the products won't clog pores.
