If I could give a "zero" star I would. I have sensitive, eczema/acne prone skin. I used for acne that would not go away with differens gel or salicylic acid (Salitop cream) I used a sparse amount and my skin was raw and red the next day. The acne was gone but what was left resembled raw hamburger. I had to go out and purchase La Mer to treat the chemical burn. So all in all I had to spend over $200.00 to get back normal looking skin. I have used La Roche de Posay before...never had a reaction like this. STAY AWAY if you have sensitive skin!!! Trust me, I missed out on holiday celebrations because of this product!
I am a 57 year old women who has had bad skin on and off for years. With menopause came some very sensitive, thin skin and lots of whiteheads, zits and wrinkles. Last year I tried prescription retin A which only made things worse and my face was beat red. After a severe breakout last month I read some reviews on a blog about this product and tried it. My skin is clear and getting better everyday! I used this product alone for the first week, then started mixing it with Aveeno clear complexion moisturizer. (another hot tip from the blog) I now use it only once a day, mixed, in the morning, then the Aveeno at night. Using benzoyl at night is a problem for me, if it somehow gets in my eye area, from the pillow case I assume, my eyes get very puffy. I also started taking some zinc supplements and notice that my skin heals faster from any kind of trauma. Hope this helps someone out there, it's been a long struggle for me, but I'm really happy with this routine. : )
I really love this product, if I am getting a bump, I put it on and by the am, it is gone!
I live in Colorado, where it is dry as a bone, & it doesn't dry out my face like other zit creams do.
This stuff is the best!! I have VERY sensitive skin so i knew to take precautions when I first started this.
I applied my regular lotion(to combat the dryness) and a small amount of Effaclar Duo to get my skin use to it(and applied it before bed to help the skins renewal process). I had minor breakouts in the beginning, as one typically does when you start a new product, but I didn't let that stop the applications.(I have been dealing with Acne for 20 yrs).
Fast forward to 8mos later and my skin is 99% clear. I still apply my lotion first but now I use Effaclar all over my face day/night. I believe I've avoided the awful redness and drying effects because I started off slowly and use lotion as well(a tip my dermo gave me years ago when I tried retin-A).
If you have tried everything else, try this, start slowly, use moisturizer and give it time!!! :-)

My esthetician recommended this product for my acne. I used it immediately after getting a microdermabrasion and it was awesome. The effectiveness has slowed down a bit but I'm sure it will pick up after I get my next facial. Products always work really good after a skin care procedure. I think it's a bit pricey but I haven't found another benzoyl peroxide topical treatment that doesn't dry out like this one. I would recommend.
