La Roche Posay Mela-D helps to combat the effects of hyperpigmentation. Daily application lightens dark spots in the skin such as freckles, age and liver spots, and pigment in the skin that may occur in pregnancy or from the use of oral contraceptives.

Hydroquinone acts as a skin lightener. LHA (Lippohydroxy Acid) acts as a micro-exfoliator. Parsol 1789 and Octocrylene protect the skin from sun damage.

Apply a small amount as a thin layer on the affected area twice daily, or use as directed by a physician. If no improvement is seen after 3 months of treatment, use of this product should be discontinued. Lightening effect of this product may not be noticeable when used on very dark skin.

I recently started using this as a night moisturizer for the summer, to help eliminate my uneven pigmentation. During the day I use Anthelios 60 for my sunscreen. I can already see a difference in the tone of my skin, after about 5 days! If I use Biomedic Purifying Cleanser first, followed by the Mela-D, I get some slight burning sensation, so I use the cleanser in the morning and the Mela-D at night. My skin also feels very, very smooth after using this combo for a few days.

I use these to treat reocurring melasma post pregnancy and age spots...lots of people compliment my skin. I agree that higher spf for all day coverage is a must!!

I use this product every morning since my doctor recommended to me in Spain. My skin tone looks better and the brown spots are almost invisible. It is very important to use a sunblock too every morning to maintain the results not only in summer.
