I had melasma start showing up on my upper lip several years ago . . . had no idea what it was until about a year and half ago, when it formed over my eyebrows, in the middle of my forehead, on my nose, chin and under my eyes on my cheeks. It hit me hard, so badly that a co-worker said "wow, I thought your face was just dirty". Heartbreaking; I could not stand my face; was incredibly ashamed; feverishly put on sunblock (that I don't think helped at all) for the last year and a half and tried all sorts of over-the-counter products, researched and tried changing my diet . . . everything I could think of. Nothing worked. Everything I heard about or researched basically made me feel as if I was doomed to live looking like this. Recently, I was referred to a plastic surgeon who does pixelated laser therapy. I went to a seminar, and was told by him that 'melasma is frustrating and an ongoing battle'. Felt even more hopeless. Because I went to the seminar, though, I got a free facial from the aesthetician in his office. She asked me a few questions while I was getting the facial and recommended this product line to me. While rather expensive, I was willing to try anything at that point. The rest is history. Ladies, I cannot tell you what a miracle this line has been to my skin. Within two days I noticed a difference, not just in the melasma, but in the overall look and feel of my skin. I have been using: Foaming gel cleanser, Toner, Clear, Exfoderm Forte, Blender, Tretinoin. Faithfully. Now going on three weeks . . . most of the melasma on my upper lip, chin, nose, and under eyes (on cheeks) has faded drastically and is not noticeable . . . on my forehead and above my eyebrows it is noticeably lighter, but not faded quite as much. The aesthetician told me on that visit to wait 6 months. It didn't even take TWO WEEKS! I'm telling you, this product is phenomenal. If you feel like you have reached your wit's end and you are willing to be faithful and stick with a regimen, THIS PRODUCT LINE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANYTHING ELSE. Oh! Forgot; I also use the sunblock. If nothing else, buy a sunblock that has at least 4% zinc oxide in it. I believe this one has 9%. Before, I was using other products that claimed to have ingredients that would block the sun, but my aesthetician says that the ONLY product PROVEN to work is zinc oxide. Use it and prevent the melasma from hitting you in the first place!!!

I am about to be 47 years old and I have a light olive complexion I would like to say that this is the most phenomenal product. I have never seen results like this when using over the counter products. It evens out my skin tone really nice. I would like to remind everyone that the ingredients in Obagi products such as Blender and Clear and travel to the deepest layers of your skin and communicate with your skin cells and are normally meant for people who have such problems like rosasea or malasma. I started using it because I was having a lot of red marks from breakouts because I was breaking out a lot. I use Exfoderm Forte and 30 sunscreen in the morning and Blender and and retinol product at night but not every night and have had nothing but the best results. I initially was given these from my sister who was getting it from her dermatologist for rosasea a few years ago she said she had a lot of it. I used it until it of was gone and was getting a lot of compliments. I saw a picture of myself from that time and I said wow that was when I was using Obagi. But it's very pricey but I was so desperate cause I would have 7 to 15 red spots from papules and nothing like cleansers or benzoyl peroxide was helping.

I was given a exfoderm forte and blender by my sister who was getting it from her Dr. for Rosasea. she said she did not need it anymore. I used it for a few months in May of 2001 I am 45. She did not mention how often for me to use it. I used it like every other day. I mixed the exforderm forte and blender and used it at night because it is kind of stinky. It did make my skin red and irritated and dry and my wrinkles more pronounced which scared me, right before I peeled. But after I peeled I received many so many compliments on my complexion. I found a picture of myself after I had been using it for a couple of months and I said Wow my complexion looked really good. Oh I was using that Obagi. I am planning on doing it again because I think this must be done a couple times a year.

The Clear is a skin lightner designed to fade dark spots. The Blender is to be combined with the Tretinoin cream, used at night to peel back years of sun damage and show clear, shiny healthy skin. Once you create an account on this website, you can get the Tretinoin cream, but it is strong and to be used according to directions. The #4 Exfoderm is the daytime skin reviver. I have been on this program for 10 months and will be on it the rest of my life! I now use the #5 & Tretinoin every other night. It is amazing and worth every penny!

hi it definitely works on me who only started a week ago. But in Uk we can't buy any Obagi product except from a clinic where the price is over 500 USD plus a usually $150 consultation fee. I want to continue after I finish my first set of Nu-derm, can anyone tell me if I can buy any tretinoin to company the blender afterwards? And what should I use to maintain the results?Many thanks.

I have read the reviews and one mentioned why Blender and Clear have almost the same ingredients? The operative word here is almost! Clear is meant to be used in the AM. Blender is meant to be mixed with Tretnoin(sp)(Retin A), which is only available with a prescription. You should not be buying Obagi products willy nilly. All the various products are meant to be used together in a certain regime. It is important that you start on Obagi by seeing an experienced professional. You can then buy your replacements where ever you want to. I was started slow, using .05% tret.(mixed with blender) every other day. You use a small amt, I was told to squeeze a line from the joint to the end of my little finger (very small amt when doing it this way). I have finished my 18 wks and am now on maintance. Using Clear 3 days a week, Exforderm alternate days a week and Blender and tret (I now use 1%) and I use a moisturizer at night. My skin is great. I am 70 yrs old and everyone thinks I am in my 50s. 40 year old ask me what I use on my skin it is flawless. No wrinkles, no age spots. (also important you use a good sunscreen) Obagi is not for someone wanting instant results or doesn't have the patience to do it faithfully for 18 wks. There is a product called Action that can be used for dry itchy skin in the beginning. Your professional may also want you to go more slowly or faster depending on your skin and what happens. This is the reason for starting with a professional. After 6 months of using Obagi, It is expensive to get started, but the products if used as directed last a long time and everything doesn't run out at the same time. I get so tired of reading negative remarks about this or that Obagi product when people buy it like it was like every other over the counter product. Obagi is medical grade products and should be used as such. For those who don't want to go through the negative to get the gain. Obagi has a new line that is less invasive called ZO and can be found at Nordstroms and online at ZO.com. These products also work well on in between days for those who are on NuDerm maintance like I.

I bought thid lotion many months ago. I put it on my skin every night and I have seen a huge improvement in the sun spots I have on my cheeks. A little goes a long way with this lotion. This treatment lotion is The One and the very best. My spots are so light now that I can weare very little makeup with no problems. I highly recommend it. I started using Obagi a month ago blended with .05% retin-a cream on my back every night. So far I am seeing the best results from any product I have tried, and I have had bad acne on my back and chest for 8 years. My skin feels so smooth, and my scars are fading and I'm not breaking out! Before this I have tried body washes, anti-biotics, creams, lotions spa treatments and nothing worked. I will give the Obagi about 3 more months and if it doesn't give me the results I want I am considering fractional laser resurfacing. So, far it looks like I'm going to save alot of money with Obagi because this stuff is awesome so far!

My plastic surgeon put me on Obagi (I tanned in sunny AZ and am an ex-smoker). The Obagi system is the best thing you can do for your face. I've been using a yr., and my wrinkles and discolorations have almost disappeared. Really. I'm an old hippie who used only soap on my skin for many years...now I won't ever be without my Obagi. It's pricey, but once you get going you can restock as needed so it won't be such a shock (and it does last a long time). I use the Foaming Gel and Toner AM and PM. At night I wait 20 min after washing then use a dab of Blender mixed w/0.1% Tretinoin (I add Prevage later if I remember). After AM washing I use the 'C' Serum, followed by Exfoderm Forte. I will supplement with Caudalie Vinoperfect or Kinerase Cream if I start getting dry. I don't buy the Clear because I think it serves pretty much the same purpose as the Blender, which is more versatile. Be patient and work through the icky stage. You will not regret it. (Oh, to avoid the red creepies, I'd start the Tretinoin/Blender mix slowly-like 2 times wk for a month, then move up from there. Once the T/B is absorbed, use your supplemental moisturizer, if needed.)

The Obagi Nu-Derm Blender is an effective product with 4% hydroquinone, but the instructions on this site aren't clear as to how and when to apply: Obagi Blender and Tretinoin (Retin-A) should be blended together, then applied evenly to the face in the PM only. It is the last step in the Obagi daily routine.

Ok, I am an esthetician and have tried LOADS of products for my melasma. I have spent more than I would care to say on skincare. I have been wanting to try obaji but couldn't afford it. Finally I decided to buy a few products at a time and finally got the whole nu-derm line. I have used this for ONE week so far and the results are amazing. My melasma- which was VERY dark from pregnancy is almost gone. Yes, I am peeling and have a sunburn feel to the skin, but if this is what I have to go through then I will take it!! Great products- you will not regret!

Since using the Obagi system I don't have to use cover up anymore to hide my acne,scars,and brown spots.All of that is in the past.Just a swirl of powder and lip gloss and I'm out the door. My face is clear and soft. I'm 44, been dealing with acne since I was in the 6th grade. I even took acutane when I was 19 to help. Once I hit 30 things changed again. I've spent thousands of dollars over the last 6 years on products and peels. I started the obaji 5 weeks ago and can't believe the change already! It is pricey but well worth it. I'm using the condition and enhance system and am sooo impressed that I started my sister on it too. I haven't worn anything but light powder for weeks which is not like me at all. Some days I even go bare! If you are hesitant, don't be but do consult a professional for follow up microdermabrasions. This helps get rid of the dryness and assists with the scarring. Well worth the price.

After giving birth to 3 kids my face had a lot of brown spots. I look horrible and had try many products to remove it but none had work until I try OBAGI. I can't believe it within a week, I can see the result. I have been only using this for 2 weeks and my face just get better each day. I am totally sold on this. The discomfort of the treatment is there but don't give up because the result is so well worth it. I love this product I only wish I had discover it sooner.

If you get thin, dry skin, and wrinkling around the eyes with Obagi, you are not moisturizing enough. Your skin needs additional moisture. I talked with my derm., and she said, to use a moisturizer, in addition to all the steps, specially at night when you use the blender. My skin looks fabulous. Everyone thinks I'm in my 20s, and I'm 40. Obagi system is AMAZING.

In order to this system to work you must be very dedicated. It can really change your life. I can literally jump out of bed and leave my house!! I have had horrible breakouts and uneven skin color since I have moved to las vegas and I cannot express how wonderful this product is. I could not go another day without it. If you are having problems with this system it may be because you just did not give it enough time. At first it is very irritating, leaving your skin feeling thin and unusual. But give it three or four months and your life will change forever. If you are annoyed with the system and want to try something else. I would say that you should try KATE SOMERVILLE. That skin line is amazing. Get the Kate somerville deep tissue repair. It smells nice and works. I just started using it with my obagi program and I love it. I work in a spa that offers Kate Somerville facials and products and I speek from experience. Try to find a spa that carriers her products and get the dermalucent facial. This facial is amazing. There is an LED light they put over your face for about 60 min. the light reduces all signs of ageing. You will notice a differnce as soon as your done.

I've been using the Obagi Blender along with Tretonin 0.1% for almost 2 months now and couldn't be happier!! I definitely started to peel after the first two weeks, but that was short-lived. Now...my skin is brighter, my dark spots are virtually GONE, and I have had absolutely NO breakouts! The Obagi line is definitely expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY! You honestly can't put a price on having beautiful skin. I used to wear heavy foundation just to cover up my acne and hyperpigmentation (which would look caked on and also made me breakout more). But NOW all I wear is sheer mineral powder - IF I even decide to wear anything on my face! I highly recommend the Obagi skincare line!!

I had heard about Obagi for years and about how great it was-I scoffed b/c I am somewhat of a skincare expert (self proclaimed) and thought it was for novices who just needed a 1-2-3 step program. My derm recommended for my brown spots-I acquiesced. I am 41 and have good skin-I have used retin-A since I was 25 but it never could get rid of the brown spots on the sides of my face (sun damage). Obagi is amazing. like having laser but a lot cheaper. Very irritating for the 1st month though.

This product is part of a program to be used with other productsto maximiz the complete treatment. It is not a single product to be used alone. Years of sun damage take months of treatment, be prepared for some extreme skin changes including redness, chapping and flaking. Consult a professional if you are in question. I used this products because I have freckles. after couple weeks of using the product I developed wrinkles around my eyes my skin became very thin and irritable. the effect of beeling creeped to my lower eyelid. my face looked horrible like a 90 years old. whoever use this product should be careful, it could do more damage tnan expected.
