Please follow instructions carefully to avoid any harsh skin reactions. The use of Hydroquinone and Retinol is not recommended during pregnancy or in children under the age of 12. It is not known whether topical Hydroquinoine or Retinol affects human milk, so its use is not recommended for nursing mothers. Hydroquinone and Retinol can cause sensitivity, so it is recommended to test a small amount of bleaching cream or gel on the skin and wait 24 hours. Minor redness is expected, but if you experience blistering or an excessive amount of inflammation discontinue use. Gentle Cleanser: Apply to face and neck with moist fingertips. Massage in gentle, circular motions until lather is developed. Rinse completely with lukewarm water.
Toner: Morning and night apply to face and neck after cleansing. Do not rinse off.
Clear: Apply to entire face morning and night.
Exfoderm: Apply to entire face every morning after using Clear.

This product has done wonders for my 40 year old sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. I've been on the product 6 months now and can go out in public w/o makeup....I have not been able to go out in public w/o base makeup since I was 16... now I can again! A bit expensive but worth every penny.

My dermatologist had recommended the Nu-Derm system ages ago, and I waited to use up my remaining Bobbi Brown skincare items to give it a try. It's been about 6 weeks since I started using the system, and I have to say, the first few were brutal! The peeling, dryness, and redness were awful, but they were well worth the results. Having fair skin and grown up on the beach, I had more than my fair share of sun damage. The Nu-Derm products have erased most of it already, and my face has a healthy glow. Hang in there through the first few weeks (I think my skin was causing a loss of appetite in others!), and you won't regret it!!!

I absolutely love the Obagi products. I agree that they can seem expensive at first, but they are worth every penny. I am willing to try/spend almost anything in order to improve my skin and this is the only product line that completly removes my sun spots with regular use. I purchase the Skin Transformation Starter Kit several times a year and then supplement my products from there. I have spent thousands of dollars in the past on laser treatments etc. but these products work even better at a lot lower cost.

I never thought I would see this face again. I have been using the entire Obagi skin system for a little over 9 weeks and I am thrilled with the results. My dermatologist recommended Obagi to me several years ago, but I was trying to get pregnant at the time and I had to wait to start. 2 kids later, at age 38, I finally took the plunge. I did not have any acne problems or acne scarring, but I had serious hyperpigmentation issues. I had melasma and freckles before I was pregnant, chloasma that got worse with each pregnancy, and some lovely new age spots on one cheek and on my jaw line. By 9 weeks, everything was gone except the two age spots, and these are significantly lighter (although they do stand out more now that the rest of my face is so even toned). I would call it a miracle, but the first 6 weeks were not much fun! My skin was red and peeling, especially around my mouth. I only used the 0.025% tretonin. My face still gets red by the end of the day, but if I skip the exoderm, I don't get the redness (I have only done this twice when I had evening client meetings). Overall I love this stuff. It was well worth the cost. I never thought I would see this skin again.

I have read many of the reviews and sorry to hear what some have reported as bad results. First of all Obagi is not like your drugstore/department store products. They are professional strength. For those of you with acne I don't know why you were on NuDerm and not the one recommended for acne prone skin!! I did 18 weeks of NuDerm under the supervision of a specialist. When my skin got too dry, aggravated or whatever, I used Action and a hydrocortisone product. Which were recommended. I am now on maintence. Obagi is not something you have to do for life, I have friends who use other products and only do Obagi once a year or so, a lot depends on your age. For me who is 70 (but told I look like 50) I chose to do a maintance to keep my new skin looking new. I had some problems while on NuDerm but I had someone to look at my skin on a weekly basis and adjust my use. For instance I went from using cleam AM & PM to only using it once a day., Also an important part of using Obagi is using Tret. (Retin A) which must be gotten with a prescription, this is used mixed with blender. I started on low dose of Tret. and used it every other night, working up to every night and then going from .025 to .1% of tret. I know this is long, but it sounds like many of you just went and ordered these products on line and with no guidance. Along with my products I got a booklet that told me how to apply the products and to never use them near my nostrils or in my case my eyes. I don't know if SkinCareRX carries Action product but I found it was a necessity when ever I became irritated or overly red. I cannot over emphasize that Obagi should not be used without some kind of guidance from someone who is qualified to know what is Obagi is all about. Once you have done this with a professional you than can go ahead and use your own judgment on how using the products best work for you. . .

It has been almost a year since I used Obagi, and only now is my skin recuperating from the damage that Obagi did. I went on Accutane (something I never thought I would need) to clear my skin up. Before using Obagi, I had very mild acne and after using it, my skin was horrible. Do not use this product unless you are under close supervision of a doctor. Some people have amazing results, but there are the odd few who don't. Be cautious!

I went to a Dr before the summer began and asked about the million of freckles I had all over my face. I do not have them all over my body and I hated them. The Dr mentioned Obagi Nuderm but, cationed me to start the regimen after the summer due to the fact that I would need to stay out of the sun. I have been using the sytem in the proper way reccommended by a Dr and I probably have 10 freckles left. I swear by this system and I am so happy that I did not have to get any Dr office chemical peels.

Ok kids, this is a prescription product to be used in collaboration with a health professional's recommendation and dosage. I've used it for over a month and it's GREAT ~ people are commenting on my glowing skin & I'm 43! This is no "quick fix". Skin damage didn't happen overnight and this won't fix your problem overnight, either. You must be committed to using the product and bearing through the redness and peeling for several weeks as the product begins to work. If you are committed to the long-haul, this is a fantastic product which is recommended by many dermotologists ~ My recommendation: avoid self-dosing/self-monitoring and use with professional guidance.

This is the same girl from the " Not sure what to do" post. So anyways it has been 3 months that I have been using the obagi nu- derm system, and I have to say that it did fade some of the red scars a bit. But it is also making my face full of black heads and the acne cysts are still coming and going, leaving really bad scars that wont go away. Now that I think about it I wish I had done the laser. I have spent 800 dollars on obagi and the laser would have been 1800 dollars I would have at least had some saved up. I'm pretty upset. I think obagi is good for people wanting to have younger looking skin, but it is not for anyone with oily skin that has or had acne. Thats just my opinion.

I have been in the feild of corrective asethetics for 14 years, haveing been exposed to harsh sun in New Zealand for many years prior as a sun worshipper. While working in the USA I kept seeing skin comming through my clinic that was smooth and looked like it had never seen the sun, all these clients were using the same thing, obagi. so I decided to give it a go. I am not wrinkled at my 37 years of age but did have pigment and a small about of rosacea and my pores were starting to dialate across my T-zone, being in the industry am of course more self critical than others. I started using the transformation kit. within the first 6 weeks, my face stung, brokeout a little, by 10am everyday I would start peeling and people were commenting, if I had been a layman in the industry I would have been scared off by it all but as I have worked for many years with peels, and glycolics, I continued, even the therapists at work were scared off but interested to see the transformation. (they were all in their early 20s so not really concerned about ageing) within the month, they were shocked to discover that I was no longer wearing makeup and could not beleive how amazing my skin was, it did what the name said. am 100% happy with the results and I am a fussy person. I tried the t-retional, with it for my chest area, I could not use that as had too many hives from it. I tried the elastderm eye cream and threw it away as was useless, realise it is a treatment product and should take a while for the effect but there was no effect, it was crapp. But the Transformation kit is 10 out of 10 and lasts well, very good value for money. I am going to start the vitamin c range next.

My acne has always been bad. I used all the products you can think of such as proactive, biore, clean n clear, and many more, nothing worked. I went to a doctor and my face cleared up. I was so happy, but i was left with scars.So I started obagi about a year later after a new doctor said it would help with the scars. Now after a year of no breakouts they are coming back these big acne cysts and alot of blackheads. I'm still using obagi and after the cyst goes away its like a black scar is left. I have only been on it for 2 months and spent 800 dollars so far . The doctor said its ok but im not sure. I just want to hide in the house and not let no one see me.

I'm 46 and always had bad skin, large pores, acne when I was young and now some scaring, discoloration on my neck and age spots starting to appear on my face. I ask my nail tech what she was doing to her face and she is the one that told me about this product and I'm so glad I ask, I've been on obagi for 6wks or 40 days and yes I'm counting. I can't say enough about this product and like others say stick it out you have to get through the bad stuff to get to the good. I know it hasn't been long for me but I have had people already asking me what I'm doing. I have wrinkles in my forehead and smiles lines, they are not as deep, my pores are so much smaller, my skin is smother & tighter. I am still going through a little redness and peeling but it's has to get all of this old bad skin off and I know that, I have been able to control the redness and the peeling with using some products every other day or taking two days off. I will continue using this product because it has already changed my skin and I never thought it would look this good this soon. It's worth the money!

I am 40 and I have never looked or felt better about my skin. I started using this product and yes, I went through some breakout and redness around my nose, mouth and neck but, I hung in there and love the results. I was most impressed with the fact that this system dried up and got rid of all of my skin moles(tags) on my neck. I knew they were from some type of a virus but, now I look like I am 29 again. Great to use on your hands too, because, hands and neck show your age. I absolutely love this product and believe me I have wasted tones of money trying to fight aging.

I'm 39, medium-fair skin. I have fine lines around eyes. The med spa sold me this product to start two weeks before I was to have a vitalize peel. I stopped after one week when I broke out in hives and the skin around my nose, ears and mouth turned to sores and scabs. I had only done the 'blend' with retin A a couple of the days per the instructions. I now have fine lines under my eyes and can't wear concealer because it just makes them look worse. A week after stopping I'm still flaking and peeling. The med spa said I'm only the third person in seven years they've seen have a reaction to Obagi...well, it's make me look worse and it appear I now will permanently have more fine lines. She also said I cannot have a peel now, which is what I really wanted. They also didn't tell me that you have to use this product for the rest of your life! On the Obagi website they state w/in a few weeks of stopping the product your skin will revert to how it was to start (and considering how I look, my guess is worse than when you started).

I've lived in sunny, arid New Mexico for most of my life: not the ideal place for a fair-skinned, light-eyed lady! I turn 50 this year, but the Nu-Derm System has turned back the clock for my skin, which my friends tell me looks younger, suppler, and better hydrated than they've ever seen it. (And I'm only in my 6th week of treatment!) The great things about Obagi Nu-Derm: my face looks radiant, but not shiny; my age spots and fine lines are diminishing; my smile has more smile and fewer creases. The tough things about Obagi Nu-Derm: it takes dedication & patience; one may suffer red blotches, itching, tenderness and peeling where the photo-damage is being repaired. Definitely have your dermatologist's support when beginning Obagi; I had already been using RetinA-type topicals for 15 years before starting Obagi, so I knew what to expect and didn't react as strongly as first-timers will. The hardest part for me was hanging in there during the first month; it was very helpful to alternate treatment days and Tolereen days when my skin got too sensitive. Good luck to you, and hang in there!

I started the system knowing I would break out since the system is designed to remove impurities etc.. After 6 months of acne (which by the way I did not have when I started)I finally stopped using. Now I have scarring and dark areas due to the breakouts. My skin is very dry! Consult dermatologist before treatment.

I started using Obagi and for the first week, my skin appeared to be clearing up, but afterwards, my skin is completely broken out. It has NEVER looked as bad as it does now...I stopped using Obagi for 2 weeks now, and my skin is continuing to break out. I feel horrible, and what a waste of money for me. Most people love this product, but it has damaged my skin. Not happy with it at all !!!

I used the whole system for the amount of time recommended. It dried out my face, broke me out, gave me lines everywhere. I look awful. I have gone to several different dermatolgist and no one has helped. It has been a year and my skin has still not recovered. My self-esteem has hit rock bottom, I avoid social events, dating and anything that has to do with people looking at me. I am very very depressed and sad that I ever used this product. Please be careful of what you put on your skin. I am African American with fair skin. This product ruined my life!

I'm 38 and a doctor at a local medspa actually recommended Obagi instead of restylane for fine lines around my mouth. I'd also had so many freckles that seemed to get bigger as I got older(due to the sun worshiping I did in my younger years) but never really thought they could be removed? I think the Medspa charged me over $400 for the whole set which was expensive but - so is restylane?!? So... I tried the system and seriously felt like my entire face was peeling off - I was a flaking mess and looked like I had a constant sunburn. I hated it, but I stuck it out. That was a year ago and I'm so happy I did. I got compliments immediately and people will notice your glowing skin and ask you what your using! SO before you go running for dermafillers and botox - TRY this product! You will not be disappointed.

I am 34 years old with very dry skin, moderate sun damage, melasma and not to mention a ton of tiny clogged pores on my chin and around my nose that even an endless number of facials nor products could never get rid of. I have been using the Obagi Nu-Derm Skin Transformation Set for Normal to Dry for 3 days now. I am already noticing that the uneven pigmentation is starting to fade, my skin is starting to look smooth and the clogged pores are almost completely gone. My skin is starting to become flaky which is completely expected, but at the same time I have this fabulous healthy glow and supple looking skin. I find myself excited to use the products because they are working so quickly - It's truly amazing. So far I am very happy with all the products in the kit - they are definitely worth a try if you are looking for a skin care regimen that can turn back time. Wow! I've finally found something that works. I received my kit on the 8th of August and my freckles and skin discoloration is gone. I'm a very light skinned african american woman and I've had very dark freckles every since I was 5 years old. Well I'm 31 years old now and I've never seen myself like this before. Me and my family are so amazed with the results. I look like a totally different person. I was about to get the fraxel laser treatment until a girl at the mall recommended this product. This is a great product for all people of color that have skin discoloration issues. Please don't hesitate to get this product. It's well worth every penny.

I started about 4 weeks ago after getting a recommendation from a dermatologist....yes, you are red and flaky while the old skin get removed and new skin gets a chance to emerge. After 4 weeks my skin is beautiful, freckles are diminished and age spots are gone. You have to be disciplined to use this and I highly recommend consulting a dermatologist first.

Entirely new concept for me in skin care and it really works! It seemed like I peeled for a month, but after it was all finished, I now have clearer, heathier skin than my 19 year old! All of my sun spots are gone...my adult acne is gone...and it pulled my skin taunt reducing my wrinkles. The initial investment seems like a lot, but if you have ever used department store products...so are they and the results aren't nearly as dramatic. The only draw back is that I am a sun lover and this program and the sun aren't compatible. I suppose that is what fake tanners are for...I would rather have younger skin!

I've tried so many products for my face both over the counter and from my dermatologist that I doubted the Obagi System. My face had severe hyperpigmentation and deep cell photodamage from a chemical burn and also sun expose. It was so bad I would not take pictures. Even the make ups designed to cover scarring didn't hide the dark patches. I have an olive complexion and the patches stood out an ugly dark, ash color. I heard about Obagi through a woman at a salon I went to. She saw my face and said hers used to be the same. Hers looked great so I started researching Obagi. I still had doubts but desided since I saw her clear skin for myself I'd give it a try (which wasn't an easy task because I kept thinking "over $300, what if it doesn't work") I started the Obagi Nuderm System along with the Tretinoin Cream.05% on May 5, 2007. Today is May 16, 2007 (yes only 11 days later) and I would gladly smile for a picture! Most of my patches have faded away, my skin tone is evening out and looks healthier. I am already recieving compliments and have several people asking me what I am doing to my skin. My daughter thought I had on a new make up! My sister is starting the system! The redness occurred after day two and the peeling followed the next day, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. It just feels and looks like a slight sunburn. I am still a bit red, but the peeling isn't as bad as the first week. Over all, I just hope that my review will encourage you to try this product. I know its a long review, but I really wanted to convince anyone with doubts that this DOES work. I went so long feeling ugly and unattractive. OBAGI WORKS and I have something to smile about!!!

I've tried everything over the counter that I could get my hands on to treat adult acne and nothing worked. My younger sister had the same problem. We both started the Obagi Nu-Derm System at the same time and are thrilled with the results. I have really fair sensative skin and it was no problem! Only drawback is there are a lot of steps to follow each day so make a little extra time each morning and night to apply the products. Highly Recommend!!!

I have tried 2 times to use the regimen and break out in hives all over my face! So I do not know what to do.

I use this and I love it. I am on week 12 and my skin looks brand new. All brown areas have faded away and I have fewer wrinkles, smoother skin and just a nicer face all over!

Upon a visit to a skin care clinic to address concerns of adult acne, hyperpigmentation and fine lines, it was recommended to me that I use Obagi Transformation line. So far I am on Week Three and am going through the peeling/redness stage. However, my skin feels soft and the redness is hidden by my mineral makeup. I am very pleased with the acne control and oily control (without drying). I am 36 years old and am in the process of getting the best skin of my life....I have high expectations and so far, so good. Highly recommend!
