who it's for
This product is great for those with aging and sun-damaged skin. It also works well for people who have hyperpigmentation.
key ingredients
Vitamin C is an antioxidant essential for the synthesis of collagen. It works to reduce discoloration and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging.
how to use it
Apply a few drops to your face, neck, and chest in the morning. If you are using the Obagi-C Rx line, you will want to replace it with the C-Clarifying Serum to boost the Vitamin C benefits, but not until after sufficient lightening results have been achieved.
HI There,
I'm always confused why the companies like to package such potent vit c serums as this in a clear bottle? i have some biopharma background and i thought for the vit c to remain stable, it must be packaged in a airless container where there is no exposure to light or air. Hence, an airless non-transparent pump would be an ideal packaging. once the serum hits the air and remains exposed to light, it will become unstable and lose all effectiveness/potency.. If i'm incorrect in this, please someone qualified enlighten me.

I bought this product based on the reviews. I do not have sensitive skin so the strength isn't a problem for me. The product makes my skin feel sticky, like it's sitting on the surface and not penetrating in. I put less on my face and the same problem. I've been using it faithfully for about 2 months and have not noticed a change/improvement in my skin tone. For the price, I would not recommend! =\

I agree with the reviewer. I buy vitamin C in a powder form and mix it just before use because it loses it's potency very quickly. This product is pricey so surely the buyer expects it to retain it's strength.
I feel like this is the only product that has really helped me with Retin-A caused flakiness. It is a little pricey and I put off buying it for a long time because of that but once I tried it I now can't live without it! I use it with the Obagi NuDerm system and have had great results. I recommend to everyone I know.
I actually didn't realize how good this was until I stopped using it and saw the difference in my skin. If makes my skin very soft and clears dark spots. Also helps with wrinkles and makes skin look younger and tighter. The only negative thing is the price. You have to use it everyday, because the benefits stop when you stop using it. But in terms of quality and delivery while you are using it, it's fantastic.
HI,
This is in response to your question on why it is harmful to used oxidized vitamin C on your skin. My answer is that it increases the formation of free radicals on the skin. Which in return no one wants because free radicals damage the skin. You can google this information but here is a website that explains more information.
http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/topical/vitcderiv.html
But like i said you can also find more information with google or other skincare sites.
Also if anyone plans to buy this product PLEASE wear a good mineral sunscreen. .. Titanium DIoxide or Zinc Oxide are the most common. If you have anymore questions please let me know.

All that link says is:"oxidized vitamin C may increase the formation of free radicals". May. May. May. Based on what information? Clinical data? Where?
Oxidized Vitamin C will be ineffective, therefore, not providing any or minimal protection against free radical damage.
Sandra is right that sunscreen is IMPERATIVE when using vitamin c as it makes your skin more photosensitive. People, we should be using sunscreen daily anyway. We have had plenty of years of research informing us of the harm sun exposure on unprotected skin can do to us and our loved ones.
If your vitamin C serum turns brown or yellow you need to discard it the reason being is that the vitamin C has become oxidized. Once the vitmain C or Ascorbic Acid is oxidized it can no longer be asorbed into the skin and there for is unless in providing any benfits to the skin. When opening a Vitamin C serum you have about 30days to use it before it oxidized. Using the serum after it has turned colors can actually cause more damage to the skin than good.

I have used the C Rx System for 2 years now. For the last 8 mnths I substituted the daytime Clarifying C Rx Serum for the Professional 20% Serum and the results are amazing. On top of the serum I apply the Exfoliator and Sunscreen as usual. I am 67 and I have no wrinkles, no sagging skin, and no dark circles. I use it also on my neck and decolletté during the daytime with the same excellent results.
Hi, I loved your post. I would be ever so grateful if you could tell me your skin care regimen. I am somewhat confused by
all the substitutions in the obagi line since they stopped selling some products. Thanks so much. Susan
I am 43 but people think I am in my late 20's . I thank Obagi Professional Serum 20% . I faithfully use it and stay out of the sun . It keeps my face moisturized ,tightened , and youthful !!
Yes this going to turn brown it is vitamins, although it is best kept in fridge. A Vit C is usually best used within 30days of opening because it begins to oxidize. But this is an excellent vit c.
Hi Denisse, I would first schedule an appt with a good skin care derm and request a prescription for Retin-A Miicro, then incorporate Glycolic Acid such as Glyderm, Vit C, and use SPF each day {no tanning, etc}. Also, staying hydrated by drinking half of your body weight in H20. You will see great results if you stay with this program.
How do you use this product? It is a serum and not a lotion so do you put it in your hand and then splash on your face? I'm really confused as to how to use it. Please help!
