This stuff is awsome!!! This has worked better than any other product Ive used for my melasma. I have medium tan skin, and ever since I took birth control, melasma on my face has been a problem. The best thing about this product is it is HQ free. I'm in the sun a lot, 3-5 hours a day, and other products with HQ have made me skin worse. Yea, it burns a little when you apply it, but not too bad. I've been using it about 5 weeks now, twice a day, and my melasma has lightened up signifigantly. What seems to happen is the serum, over time (days, weeks) works its way into the dark areas of your skin and bring them to the surface until the dark skin flakes off. I just had a dark flake of skin peel off like 10 minutes ago and underneath is fresh skin. i wish I did a before and after because it is such a difference. I believe in another couple weeks, I will feel comfortable enough to walk around without any face makeup on!

This product was recommende by my esthetician and when I tried it, my skin started burning and turned red, was very sensitive. I was unable to talk with anyone at the company and my esthetician said she doesn't like dealing with the company because they treat people bad.

I have been using PCA Skin 13 now for 5 weeks. I bought it because of all the great reviews. So far I am very disappointed. The treated areas started to shed last week but the skin underneath looks just the same, maybe even darker.

I've gone through Cosmelan treatment and saw great results but needed something less traumatic than Cosmelan 2 to keep melasma at bay. This product, combined with the C-Quench seems to work well. Key is to use it consistently and combine a strong vitamin C treatment with it. I'm ordering my third bottle today.

i used almost 2 bottles over a 6-month period, with no noticeable results so i won't be wasting another $35 on it. i am allergic to hydroquinone, so, i thought this would be my answer, unfortunately it wasn't. even combined with the vitamin C/E, i got no results. i think i will try the A&C serum and hope for the best.

I've been using for melasma (darkness above lip) for 6 weeks every day and it is only getting worse. I'm fair skinned and use sunscreen everyday. So... I'm sticking with it but so far no go.

This is a very good product. I have tried countless products for my stubborn melasma, and this is the first one that I have found to work without all of the adverse side effects. My skin did peal at first, but now the pigmentation on my face is much lighter.

I've been using this product on my melasma(which I got about 4 years ago) for the past 3 weeks and is almost gone.Tried everything before,including a 10% HQ which made it worse and melederm.I'm a nanny and that means I spend most of the time outdoors.My skin is extremely sensitive,but with this product I've got no peeling,burning or darkening and probably because I use it once a day before bed. LOVE IT!!!!!

I am a student Esthetician (soon to be licensed) and I would highly recommend PCA products to anyone. The reason your pigmented areas get darker with this serum is because the serum is lifting the melanin to the surface to therefore exfoliate it even more. If your pigmented areas become darker at first this is a sign that the product is working. Do not discontinue if this happens, as the serum will lighten the areas once all of the melanin is brought up to the surface.

I have spent alot of time in the sun which has led to my brown spots. I have been using this product now for 2 years and love it! I have even gotten my husband and mother in law hooked on it - but need to be consistent in its use to really control the dark spots!

Use the product sparingly. If you use too much on one spot, it will darken the spot more than usual. Have patience. It does work.

I have experienced burning and developed a rash the first week. I'm still using it but my dark spots are so far just getting darker. Should I stop using the gel? Has anybody had similar effects?

I must agree with everyone who said this is an excellent product. I got a sample several years ago, and when applied to post-acne spots (I'm African American) it starts to work just within a few days, I kid you not. I searched all over the web to find it, and glad it's still being manufactured. For persons with dark skin tones who don't want to end up looking like MJ, this is the product to get. Plus, one drop goes a long way. It lasts FOREVER!

I'm a black female that experienced major hyperpigmentation after using Retin-A. I spent most of the summer in the house because I was embarrassed by my skin after a severe allergic reation to Retin-A. I had HUGE PIMPLES & dark spots all over my face. In October I stopped using the product prescribe by my Derm (another $400 wasted but I continued to use the 4% fade cream to help witht the spots. Some improvement but not much. (that's how bad they were) January, I went to see an aesthetician and she suggested using Kojic acid. Wow. This is just my first week. It burned like heck but once my skin peeled the spots are CONSIDERABLY lighter and some of them are gone. I'm not kidding. Right now I'm using Murad and as soon as I run out I will definitely purchase the PCA skin care line. I'm just that impressed with the line. Thank you for the quick shipment SKINCARERX. I just started using this product last week 2/8/2008 so I can only rate it a 3. I'm curious to see if it burned anyone else's skin during the initial application. It may be my other acne treatment that's causing it to burn combined with this. I'm only using it as a spot treatment for my hyperpigmentation and I noticed that the dark marks have gotten darker. I'm not sure why? Also I noticed dry patches as well. Has anyone else experienced these issues. I'm going to keep using because I know I always have some type of intial irritation with anypoduct that I use. Just curious.

I have medium to dark Asian skin, and have just had cryosurgery which left large areas of hyperpigmentation all over my face. I have been using this gel for merely three days (in the AM and PM) and already see that the dark areas are fading. I also suffer from bad acne marks, and some have completely disappeared. So unless I am imagining things, I'd say that this is a miracle product.

I bought this product based solely on reviews...and now, I have one myself. It works. After only 3 days, I noticed a difference in the darkest spots on my face. I've had expensive glycolic peels that didn't do nearly the job and with harsh irritation. I'm able to use it all over my face. I've tried everything up to this point. THIS ONE WORKS!

I love this product. I have been using it on the age spots on my hands and it has completly faded them. I have tried other more expensive products but this works the best.
