My first bottle worked well. I could only use it a couple of times per week due to dryness and flakiness, but I figured that was to be expected as my skin got accustomed to it. My 2nd and 3rd bottles did not cause any dryness, flakiness, or irritation at all. i used it every night. I did feel that the results were not as noticeable as they were at first (pores looked a bit larger again, a few more breakouts, a couple of sunspots not getting any better) but I figured maybe I had hit a plateau with the results. Then I got my fourth bottle. After just the first applicaton, it was as if it was my first time using it again! Dryness and flakiness galore! I am back to only using it a couple of times per week. I am concerned about the consistency of this product and the reliability of this brand overall. When this bottle is gone, I will try a different brand of retinol cream.
Have you checked the expiration date on the package/ bottle?
I ordered 4 or another product line, cost almost 300 dollars! i had hoped to have almost a years worth,
as soon as I received them I checked the exp dates as i have run into the same problems as you, but never thought to check, so i remembered to always check in the future, (they do have so many products sitting around)
sure enough all 4 expired over a year ago, that means, by the time I used the last bottle, it would have been 2 years old
Most products are not really dangerous if expired, but the total results would be not as effective.
Where is the expiration date located on the bottle? I see rev 5/11 on the lower backside of the bottle. Is this the expiration date? I do not see anything else labeled as the expiration date. My bottle is relatively new and if this is the correct date then that makes it quite old. Whats the point of getting a good price if the potency of the product is diminished!?!
I agree with other comments. Pump is terrible. Stops working long before product is gone. Used it before they changed the formula. Used to love it. Now it stains bedding. Won't order again.
I have used both Tazorac and Retin-A in the past and both caused peeling and irritation. I have gotten great results with the Replenix 10x serum with no irritation or peeling. I am very acne and clog prone with oily skin and I love this product.
I like this product. So far I've used a bottle of 5x and it seams to help the puffiness under my eyes and make my skin smoother. In fact my rating would've been 5 stars if I didn't discover how extremely misleading the packaging was. I open bottles with pumps when the pump stops working%u2014there's always more product inside. Well, when I pried this one open there was a tiny capsule, may be one inch tall and a quarter inch in diameter. As a consumer, I really don't appreciate marketing schemes like that. I'll buy your product but don't lie to me!
SkinMedica Tri-Retinol complex ES (extra strength)
THis product and packageing is superior to this product and also, any of the others I have tried here, stronger, and no problems with packaging that has been a problem with this one and another companys
I'm not sure I understand the customer's comment above about this product being a "marketing scheme" and feeling apparently quite strongly that she'd been deceived... HOW?? In the last 2 years I've become a very big consumer of online skincare products- an educational process which has subsequently turned me into a conscientious shopper. I feel very confident in my ability to decipher through the abundant amount of information and misinformation including consumer studies, marketing, comments, reviews, price points, size/quantity, ingredients, product efficacy, actual results and last but not least- packaging. Certainly there are several skincare companies that use their packaging for a variety of agenda driven reasons- the number one reason likely to be cost-effectiveness. Sometimes it works out to be in our favor, bringing the price point down- sometimes it doesn't (compromising the integrity of the product). But regardless of all of the various things they may mislead us about, or even flat out "lie" about, there are TWO things in which we ARE guaranteed accuracy; price and quantity/amount- both of which are written clearly for us to read on the product description page, then on our invoice, then on our bank or credit card statement (price) and on our product package (amount). Sure there are a lot of scheming skincare companies selling snake oil out there but whether it's packaged in a small eye dropper vial, a pump the size of your gas tank or a tiny capsule inside of a giant pump- if you purchase 1 oz, you can expect to get 1 oz. That's the beauty of numbers- they don't lie...
I love the product and am on my 4th bottle but the pump has ceased to "pump" at all. It won't budge and I'm sure I've only used half the bottle thus far. I was told to shake it vigorously upside down to get the air out of the bottle but I'm not having any luck. This is too expensive to not be able to get out of the bottle. I'm not sure what to do now.
I love this product. 9 months ago I started using the 2x on the advice of my dermatologist who says everyone over 40 should use a retenol product. I was buying it from the dermatologist until I found skincarex. This is the cheapest place I have found to buy it. I have recently started using the 10x and am very happy. My skin looks younger and fresher.
Recently started using this product after going through a bottle of the 5x first. I love the smoothing/pore reducing/brightening/acne preventing/spot reducing effect of this product (much more effective than the 5x). However, I want to ask if anyone else finds the consistency weird?? I don't know why it is called a "serum" because mine is thick and pasty. It takes 3-4 pumps to cover my face and I end up with residue stuck in the lines in my fingertips. Am I getting bad bottles, or is this how the consistency is supposed to be?
I agree, I haven't been using it like I should because the consistancy is so wierd. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way or if it's just bad. It's sorta gross. Does SkincareRX have any advice?
The Replenix Smoothing Serum 10x has more of a cream consistency than a serum consistency. The color ranges from a dark yellow to a light brown. The reason the color changes is because the ingredients are harvested at different times of the year. The product should not feel gritty. If it does call Customer Service at 877-682-3553 #4 so we can get a replacement product sent out to you.
I used obagi .1 percent retin A and bleaching cream x 6 months (Nu Skin). Once off this, I turned to this cream. It left my skin very dry, red and irritable. I gave it a few weeks and then stopped using it. I figured my skin would be tolerant to this considering that I used the strongest prescription strength Retin A. I love the regular replenix green tea and i think I will just stick to that.
It seems unlikely that the 5x strength would only contain .05% . The most effective and concentrated strength allowed without a prescription is 1,0%. Perhaps the poster or that answer meant that the formula followed this pattern: 2x= 2% OR 0.02, 5x= 5% OR 0.05, 10x= 10% OR 0.10 . This is far more likely to be the case in a cosmeceutical product that features retinol or its isomers.
Hi, I just wanted other readers to know that it is NOT recommended to use Retinol in the day. Exposure to sunlight will actually degrade the retinol making it completely ineffective and/or cause a reaction on the skin.
If you are looking for a good foundation primer, save your Replenix Retinol for night and use the Colorescience Line Tamer or Wild to Mild.
I have several inflammation problems about my face and this product has been VERY good at keeping it toned down. I have psoriasis and acne and enlarged pores (lucky me, I know) and this product has worked wonders. The key is to use it every single evening. I also have begun using it as my day moisturizer and I have found it to be a wonderful primer for under foundation. It smoothes out the face as good if not better than any primer on the market that I have used--with the added benifit of the retinol and green tea. If you have acne prone skin with enlarged pores and inflammation this product may work wonders for you as it has for me.
I have been using Replenix for about 2 years. I kept coming back to this product (replenix 10x)
after subjecting myself to Retin A- toooo harsh for my skin. Now I am applying Replenix 10x with caffene. It works great without the irritation and dryness associated with Retin A/Retinol products. The short list of ingredients goes a long way. Pure Quality!!
