I wanted a cleanser that would be gentle enough to use after chemical peels, microderm abrasion, etc. This is safe for post procedure use. i also was hoping it would remove make-up. It takes about two applications to get my make-up off, and I don't wear a lot of heavy make-up. Bare Escentuals powder or Smashbox tinted moisturizer. I was mostly disappointed by the thin film it leaves on my skin after use. This may be what the manufacturer intended, but i don't like it.
This cleanser was not as good as expected. I have melasma and get facial treatments (melanage peels) every few months or so, and was looking for a product that was gentle on my face, but also cleansed really well. This cleanser does NOT work well at all to remove makeup. I found that I had to wash a couple of time to get my face clean, which you should not have to do for $30.00 cleanser. I don't even wear waterproof makeup. It also left my skin feeling like it had a greasy film on it, instead of that clean feeling. Will be going back to my Obagi products.
This cleanser is great after receiving a facial treatment (glycolic peel, etc.) It is gentle and moisturizes. It also has a pleasant fragrance. I purchased it just to use after peels and I now like it so much that I use it daily.
Don't let "gentle" in the name fool you. This is an excellent cleanser for everyone, every day. It even takes off make-up! Okay, it doesn't do eye make-up very well. But I only use my fingertips as directed by my aestetician, but if you use a cloth as recommended, the diiference it from 75% to 100%. It have a refreshing orange or citrus scent, rinses easily and cleanly, and leaves your skin feeling firm and happy. I follow with a light moisturizer and my skin loves me.
