I have read the reviews, and must agree with those who say they wouldn't leave home without it! This product has a tightening effect for my "mature" skin (I'm early 50's) that leaves it softer and tight but not dry--in fact the hydrated face lasts through the day. The people who say this product is tacky may be using too much or have oily skin??? Again, I cannot say enough positive things about putting this on in the morning. When I do, I feel as though I can venture out without makeup!
I have had sensitive, acne-prone skin since my teens, and I am nearing 30. My current skincare regimen is the most effective of the countless ones I have tried. It is what I swear by, even though it is (in my opinion) pricey, and it works even when my skin flares up during that certain time of month. In the past, that was just beyond my control. The SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator is best used at NIGHT. I can see how people would find it difficult to work with during the day, because it could provide a subtly gunky base for your makeup, which is far from ideal. Use it at night, and you don't have a problem. During the day, I use Phyto (the liquid, not the gel), followed by a complexion-evening moisturizer that contains SPF. This combo keeps my skin very even with a minimum of redness. Regular use reduces oiliness. The only times I encounter problems are when I stray from this routine. Highly recommended product.
I am surprised at the other reviews because I absolutely love this product! I have some scaring from acne and sun damage, but saw improvement the first time I used this product. I would recommend it! The only complaint that I have is that it does feel "sticky" on my skin but that fades as it dries. I have tried so many skin care products and this is the first to offer such amazing results. Definitely worth every penny!
I love this product! I have some scaring on my skin but found that this product really helped. I was advised to only use 3-4 drops, but to get results I use twice that amount. Whatever works!
I have been using this for about 2 months and it's just annoying. Sticky, heavy on my oily skin (I think it makes it oiler somehow) and just doesn't feel nice. Maybe it's just not right for my skin type, or perhaps the climate I live in- tropical, so I'm sure that doesn't help. either way, I'm not a fan...
I am a dedicated user of potent products, such as glycolic acid, Retin-A and vitamin c (Cellex-C). If you're looking for real results, skip this product. I notice no discernible smoothing or brightening of my skin. Plus, the product itself feels tacky and is way too heavy and shiny for oily skin.
I love this product. My skin is combination and prone to occasional large acne cysts, so I have some scarring. Plus my crows feet are starting to really stick. I have noticed my skin looks brighter, smoother and lovelier since about 2 weeks after beginning use. I am going to ask my esthetician for some other recommendations - perhaps something for eyes.
I am using this product in conjunction with the entire skin brightning package. While I'm not seeing dratic results yet, my skin does look good, so I'm going to keep going. But this product is so sticky, I really struggle to use it. I doesn't feel like it ever absorbs, but just sits on my skin. It seems to make everything that I put on afterwards not sink in as well.

I have uneven texture on my cheeks and around my mouth due to acne scarring. This product, in conjunction with the M2 Cleanser, has cleared up my scars at least 70% in the past two months.
I don't know what to do with myself in the morning, as I no longer spend 10 minutes artfully applying layers of foundation. Instead, I use Benefit Erase Paste for any redness and a swipe of their pressed powder. I'm like an artist without a canvas!
This is usually the last thing I put on at night, as it seals in the goodness of any other serum or night cream. Both my derm and my facialist are happy that I use this product, btw. So go forth! May your painting days be numbered!
I have been using this produce for 2 weeks and have to agree with Bethany and with Anonymous. My skin looks better and feels better. I have acne scarring and my skin is very flaky. The scarring seems reduced and the flakiness has almost disappeared, so much so that I can actually look in the mirror in daylight! I am definitely going to continue with this product and am at the moment deciding on which other Skinceutical products to purchase.
