I have heard that there should be visible changes within 12 weeks. We'll see about that. But back to this product, it is doing its job--sloughing the skin off as it should. The glycolic acid removes the flakes.

I had to comment on this product as I don't write many reviews. I'm a long-time user of prescription Retin-A Micro .04%. I've used this for many years about 3-4 nights a week. I did not feel as though it was helping my skin very much the past year or two and also wanted to get off of the prescription because I have a feeling, in the near future, I will simply NOT get lucky enough to get this covered by my prescription plan. My derm has to write a letter of medical necessity (cystic acne) for me each year to be considered for coverage. I was granted coverage but with healthcare costs getting tighter and tighter, I think those days are numbered.
So I tried SkinMedica's TriRetinol. Eh. just so so. It was their .05%. So......I moved on to this. Well, let me tell you, this product is the REAL DEAL! Silly me, thinking I'm a long term prescription retinoid user - I didn't need to 'adjust' to this, right? WRONG!. I used this 4 nights in a row and by the fourth night my skin was RED and on fire! For 3 days I looked windburned and my skin felt very tight. Then the intense flaking began. I looked like I had a skin disorder! Or like I was snake shedding its skin! The peeling continued for about 3-4 days. After I had shed a goodly layer of skin, my skin looked VERY good. Much better than it has in a LONG time. Thank you Skinceuticals!
Pehaps it would have been better had I started with their 0.5% but figured I would do okay with this one. :-( From now on I'm only using it twice a week and will slowly build up to what my skin can tolerate without the intense redness and flaking,etc. I am amazed how potent this is! It took me back to my early 20's (I'm 45 now) to the reaction my skin had when I very first started using prescription Retin-A.
You will not be sorry you bought this (don't be afraid) but abide by the instructions and don't ignore them like I did. Gradually work up to regular use.
This is one of the few that actually has enough retinol, that it works. if you order anything else, (not rx.with one exception), you may as well go to the drugstore.
I sure miss the Biomedic Retionol 60!! why they discontinued it, I'll never know....
But follow directions,,, if you never used a real product, dont start with this one, get the 0.5%, follow the directions. more = Red, skin etc.....
I did the same thing used it for 4 days in a row and wow, looks like my skin after a chemical peel, I will also take it very slowly, amazing. I have been using another retinol product for years and nothing like this product
I've been using this product for almost 2 years now, and was ECSTATIC to see they finally changed the packaging. My most recent purchase (end of April 2012) came in a tube rather than the bottle pump combo. This retinol has been instrumental in resurrecting my skin from severe acne, helping to end my chronic break outs and remove scarring and hyper-pigmentation. I've consistently used it almost every night, in conjunction with the Epionce skin care line, and now people say my skin is one of my best features.
I too have been so frustrated at trying to get the pump to work. I pushed pins in the holes to see if that would do it, but to no avail. Finally, I turned the bottle upside down and pumped, and viola......out came the cream, the pump now works. Give it a try. As for the cream.....excellent product.

This product u can never tell how much is left, until it is empty. and one time there was a sale to stock up, i had just order 1, so did not open it for 2 months but when I did could not get the product out? I called I tried everything , then skincarerx, refused to replace or give me my $$ back, so if u do buy this make sure it works, it has failed me 3 times out of 5-6 times i purchased it, I want the other product back or at least with the same strength and with different packageing I know they get many complaints re: this packaging, THEN WHY DON'T THEY CHANGE IT? seems simple to me, and sure that biomedic or L.R.P. doesn't have a patent on their packaging.. I am not going to buy it again, and there is so little in it. the product it self is good but if you spend that kind of money and can't get it out? not taking the chance again, after spending $60.00 for nothing and Customer Service would do nothing to help.
I will just go to Amazon where I think i found the biomedic or under their other name Le Ray Posey, it lasts longer cost is cheaper , Not sure if it is Amazon or not but will have to check my history I know I found it somewhere.
I can not believe a Clincially proven product and this is the only choice, with a high concentration, very dissapointed in SKINCARERX
I've been using the Skinceuticals 1% retinol for about a year now. Prior to the Skinceuticals, I was using the Green Cream Level 9. I am very pleased with the look and feel of my skin. I'm definitely hooked on the Skinceuticals and will continue to use it. I've been fortunate to not have much problem with the dispensing. The product typically lasts me 4-5 months and after it will no longer dispense, I cut open the bottle. It has about another 3-4 weeks worth of lotion left in the bottle. I do keep it in a ziploc bag and get as much of the air out as I can. Love the product and recommend it, completely!!
how the heck did u cut open the bottle, I have two now that will not dispense and only had them a few months each and use every other day, so frustrating, why don't they put it in a jar, I don't know about you but spending this kind of money i want every drop!
I was SO excited to try this product as it was recommended to me by a French pharmacist. I had seen several other reviews talking about the pump not working and thought I'd try it anyway, after all how hard it it to unscrew a cap? However, it is nearly impossible to take the top off so with the pump not working, there's no way to get the product out. I am returning the product now and hoping that I'll get a non-defective pump in the next bottle so I can actually use the product.
I have ordered the .5 strength twice and the results were very good, although there was a problem dispensing the product both times. Eventually I was able to get out must of the product. I was looking forward to stepping up to the 1% and placed my order with high hopes. Unfortunately, the pump for this container does not work at all. This is a total loss for me as I am not able to return it. There should not be a problem with every bottle. I will not order again.
This product comes in a squirt bottle but it would not squirt out. I really wanted the Biomedic Retionol 60 but was sent to this product instead and it won't squirt out of the tube. i ended up just buying my Biomedic from another supplier.
Like Edy above I too wanted Retinol 60 but was directed to this skinceuticals 1.0. THis pump is really frustrating. I cannot get it to work, tried turning it upside down etc. but to no avail. I can't find a supplier of the 60 LaRoche Posay. That's what I really want. Easy squeeze tube!
This is certainly not a product for sensitive skin, but the results are pretty good. I could tell a real difference in my skin in terms of tone, texture and smoothness in about 10 days. BUT I had problems with the container! I bought this product 4 times and struggled mightily with the 3rd container and this 4th container is going back because I can barely get any of the product out and I just opened it. There are a lot of complaints about the container on other sites. I won't be buying this product again which is too bad because it is one of the few products that contains 1.0% Retinol. I tried the 1.0% Green Creme, but it does not work nearly as well.

Great product but dispensing the product has caused me a great problem and hope you can correct the situation. I have lost much of the solution and cannot buy again until this problem will be resolved by the manufacture of a better way to dispense this great product.

I buy this product off amazon and i never have gotten a pump action 1 mine always comes in a tube, they advertise it on amazon in a tube or a pump action!!!!!
i have used this product in the past. it worked wonderfully! cleared up my acne and made my face look brighter and healthy. so when i found it at this price it was a must-have for this summer. but when i recieved this product from this site.... it had absolutly no smell to it and was white.... the previous bottles ive used were a light yellow almost and had a light fragrance to it. Im wondering if A: skinceuticals has changed it since i last purchased or B: i got a knock-off version from this site. Any advise or insite?
I am 36 and have been living with fine lines/uneven and dull skin. I've used a few high-level retinol products after building up (Green Cream Level 9, DERMADoctor Poetry in Lotion 1.0, etc.). This one is the best bargain as far as my very resilient, thick skin is concerned. Over time (about a month), I saw exactly the results I wanted: smoother skin tone/texture, smaller pore appearance, acne scar reduction, red blotchiness gone, livelier complexion. Given more time, I have no doubt this product will be the catalyst for more improvement. I use this retinol nightly and vitamin C/glycolic products during the day with an SPF 30 over the top. I will be ordering more of this. I have not noticed any offensive odor whatsoever (scent was a concern for a couple of previous reviewers), and I'm generally sensitive to smells.
Follow the directions and it works great. Do not exceed or try to speed up the process...It peeled my entire face off in one week. I give it a five because it does what it says when used as directed.
I have been using for 15 days now and I can see it already working, my pores look smaller, my skin look brighter renewed. Also it had helped me with my acne scars overnight!! I will continue using it 4forever,!
So far I love the retinol a (1.0). I used the 0.5 for about 4 months everynight before moving on to the 1.0. I have been using the 1.0 since the 7th of January, but now all of a sudden my face feels burnt, red and has tiny bumps. Will this exfolliate and flake away as it should? I am going to back off and use it only every other day or every two days. I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. p.s. I was also wondering where others are able to buy this over the counter? Mine was not available over the counter, I had to purchase it from my doctor. Thanks
When I ordered the product, it stated I would receive an email confirmation. I have not. This leads me to believe you are not as good as you say you are.
