I have suffered innumerable cold sores for the past 30 years, and my last bout occured when I was under emotional stress and suffering hormonal fluctuations. Add some sun after a long, cloudy period, and Bingo! I was about to endure my second cold sore after one healed a week earlier, and then I discovered Viroxyn online. I rushed to Walgreen's the next morning, and applied the medication, as directed, as soon as I got home. I felt pain relief immediately, and the sore stopped blistering about a half an hour later. The sore was almost healed two days later and only a slightly red area on my lower lip remained, but no ugly, oozing blister ever appeared. I am thankful someone finally developed a "cure!" Five stars on this one!

I have worked in the dental field for almost 30 years and have tried every type of treatment for cold sores. What I have found to work the best is taking 1000mg of Llysine daily. I have tried this product on myself, my daughter and my boss and have had little to no improvement and in my daughters case the cold sore got much worse. I would not recommend it.

If you suffer from coldsore outbreaks on a regular basis you might think about taking Llysine and Zinc daily (1,000 mg Llysine and 50 mg Zinc). Llysine promotes skin healty and Zinc helps the Llysine work more effectively. I have herpes simplex 1 on my lips and use to get them one after the other. Now that I take these products (for over 5 years now actually), I get one coldsore a year -- if that!

I bought this in desperation after trying my normal OTC med for days without any success. I ended up using Viroxyn on a cold sore that literally was making the lower half of my face swell and causing my whole system to have a viral reaction (similar to the flu). Even though I used it on a full-blown outbreak (it is supposed to be most effective on an emerging sore), it still worked something akin to a miracle! Within 8 hours, my facial swelling was better and my sore was starting to heal. It was the first improvement I'd seen in days. The entire outbreak cleared within about 3 days of using the product. I will absolutely use Viroxyn again and now I have some on hand so that I won't have to search and wait to use it!

I had just received an IPL treatment and sure enough the next day I had a coldsore pop up. I immediately applied Viroxyn. The coldsore was still there, but I was so amazed that I didn't bloom into the usual monster that they always do. Other than not having one at all, this made it bearable. Worth a try for coldsore sufferers!
