In an effort to \"step up my game,\" I purchased this product and used it for about 3.5 months. Because I have already been taking extremely good care of my skin for the past 11 years, I really did not notice any discernible benefit from using this. I gave it to a girlfriend, a former sun worshipper, and she loved it. I guess this product works better on those who have not been taking good care of their skin and have a number of skin issues. If your skin is already firm, even toned and wrinke-free, I would pass on this product.
This product was recommended to me by a SkincareRx esthetician. I first purchased it in summer 2010 and recently reordered. It is an excellent eye cream for lightening and firming the eye area. I absolutely love the skin reflectors, which illuminate the eye area. This is the first peptide product I have used that actually delivers results. Until this, I was a virtual slave to MD Forte\'s Skin Rejuvenating Eye Cream, which I still love. As someone with oily, acne-prone skin, I love the fact that this product is not overly moisturizing. I get tired of not being able to use skin rejuvenating products because manufacturers have dumped a ton of moisturizers in them. Not everyone has dry skin.
As someone with oily acne-prone skin, I really was not impressed with this cleanser. It did nothing to improve the condition of my skin. There are better and more potent glycolic acid cleansers on the market, such as Neostrata 20% AHA Foaming Cleanser. I switched to the Gly/Sal 10-2 pads and obtained a very good result.
Last year, I was in love with Citrix Antioxidant Pads. I swithced to the Gly/Sal 10-2 pads to better control my acne. These pads deep cleanse the skin really nicely. This also exfoliates by removing the flaking I get on my face and neck from Retin-A and chemical peels. The only con would be the inclusion of acetone in the ingredients. I am not sure what purpose this serves. Interestingly, I also tried the Gly/Sal 10-2 cleanser for my face and was not impressed. I think the pads work better because the active ingredients stay on my face longer.
You simply cannot go wrong with the Cellex-C Advanced C products. I alternate between this and the cream of the same name. I LOVE them both. My skin is firm, glowing, smooth and tight. I'll be buried with this stuff.
I am a dedicated user of potent products, such as glycolic acid, Retin-A and vitamin c (Cellex-C). If you\'re looking for real results, skip this product. I notice no discernible smoothing or brightening of my skin. Plus, the product itself feels tacky and is way too heavy and shiny for oily skin.
I guess I am in the minority here, but I found this product to be nothing special. Cleansers from Replenix and Neostrata cost less and use far more potent ingredients to lighten, treat, protect and smooth skin. In terms of effect, this was no more potent than a drug store product.
I'd give this product a "0" if I could. It does not blend smoothly on the skin and is not remotely sheer. It leaves a pronounced white cast, which is even more evident on dark skin and is not matte. In this day and age and at this price point, there is no excuse for "old school" sunscreen formulations, such as this. Total waste of money and time.
Finally a very sheer, super lightweight liquid sunscreen, which is just what my dark oily skin needs, especially in hot weather. I barely feel anything and like the matte formulation. I haven't used it long enough to say how it holds up on very sunny days, but I really like it so far.
Until I came across this product, I had yet to use an eye cream that justified its cost. I have only been using this a short time, but a small dark patch near my eye has started to fade already. My eye area seems firmer and smoother. So far, I have gotten better results than with the more expensive Revale Eye Serum.
I love the fact that this eye cream is oil free and light. It disappears into the skin quite nicely with no greasy residue.
However, I do wish this eye cream had a higher percentage of retinol and contained Vitamin C in the form of l-ascorbic acid.
That said, for the money and results, it's hard to beat this product.
Previously, I had never thought much of high end cleansers. This product truly delivers results. Besides smoothing my skin, it deep cleans my pores. Even after washing and exfoliating with other products, I still had greasy white crud in the pores of my nose. Since I started using this and Replenix CF Purifying Antioxidant Foaming Cleanser, I no longer have that problem. It disappeared almost overnight.
As someone with acne and oily skin, I could never find a truly effective cleanser. This product delivers results. It deep cleans my pores. Even after washing and exfoliating with other products, I still had greasy white crud in the pores of my nose. Since I started using this and NeoStrata 20% AHA Foaming Wash, I no longer have that problem. It disappeared almost overnight.
After years of relying on Retin-A, Cellex-C vitamin C creams and chemical peels, I thought I would step up my game with this product. It came highly recommended as the second generation of human growth factor and an effective means of building up the skin.
After a month and a half of use, I honestly do not notice much of a difference. Granted my skin is already very beautiful (firm, even toned, glowing and unlined), but I hoped this product would add some additional benefit to my routine. My skin seems a little more plump and full, but that's it. Considering the price, I expected more.
I have used this product for a little over a month and am not sure if it really lives up to the hype. Since I do not have dark circles, sagging skin or wrinkles in my eye area, it is hard to tell if the product is really working. I bought it as a preventative measure and only time will tell.
However, I did recommend it to a neighbor and my aunt, both of whom are older, and they absolutely love it.
This product did leave my skin looking nice, but not as firm, glowing and even toned as Cellex-C Advanced Skin Tightening Cream. While Revale Intensive Serum is a more powerful antioxidant, the Cellex-C product increases collagen production much more. Revale is not bad. It just was not for me.
I purchased this product for my aunt, a former Cellex-C user, and she loved it. Her skin is firmer and more luminous. I like the fact that this product has a higher concentration of L-Ascorbic Acid, the most stable and potent form of topical Vitamin C. I love Cellex-C, but this seems to be a more affordable option.
I have purchased this product several times. It does fade, but on my skin, it took some time to see results and the results were uneven. My skin looked blotchy in some areas. I now use Tri-Luma Cream, which contains both 4% hydroquinone and Tretinoin. Tri-Luma Cream works very quickly and is a much more potent skin lightener. Almost overnight, it cleared up melasma and dark spots that years of chemical peels and Obagi Sun Fader did not eliminate entirely. I am not saying Obagi Sun Fader is bad. I just found something much better.
The only thing this product did was clean my skin nicely without stripping it. It was not remotely effective in terms of lightening discoloration. I did like the jar container, which was very convenient for travel and hygenic.
I did not like this product at all. At first, it seemed to work a little, but the results were rather minimal. There are far more effective alpha hydroxy products on the market. Compared to a glycolic acid product, this did little to smooth and even my skin. I also disliked the tacky/gunky formulation, which made the product difficult to use with other skin care treatments.
I purchased this for my aunt who absolutely loves it and feels it gives her better results than a glycolic peel. This cream made her skin smooth, glowing and even toned rather quickly. For the money and the results, I don't think you can beat this product.
My husband who is older and has normal to slightly oily skin has been using this product with pretty good results so far and intends to purchase more.
As for the "A Little Nervous" comment posted by "L" yesterday, I think you may be on to something. I have oily and acne prone skin and would not use this product on my face because it is moisturizing and meant to be left on overnight. That would be enough to break me out. Someone with dryer or older skin would probably fare better.
This is the best vitamin C product, cream or serum, I have ever used. Whenever I have experimented with other brands, I have been disappointed. It firms, smooths and evens out my skin. My skin has no wrinkles and just glows. The cream formulation makes it easier to tolerate than the serum.
