Rosacea is a skin disorder that is characterized by erythema, which is flushing of the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. This flushing can also be found around the shoulders and back.

Symptoms can be controlled and improved by using proven skin care treatments. Be aware that some skin care treatments can actually create and worsen rosacea symptoms. These could include microdermabrasion, benzoyl peroxide and retinoids (such as retin-A or retinol palmitate).

An effective rosacea treatment must be continual and long-term. While it is characterized by periods of flare-ups and remissions, most individuals can experience gradual and noticeable improvement over time by using proven skin care treatments and avoiding triggers.
